Some Things About Mr. H
Education
I graduated from Llano High School in 1991. Upon completion of high school, I attended Southwestern University in Georgetown, TX, where I majored in animal behavior, graduating in 1995. This entailed core courses in biology and psychology, along with additional coursework in research methods and animal learning theory. This field of study allowed me the opportunities to perform field research involving orcas in British Columbia and behavioral research on birds at an agricultural research facility in France. I also attended Texas State University for two years in order to obtain my teaching certification. Prior to starting my current position at WSES, I student taught at DSMS, substitute taught throughout the district, and tutored at WSES.
Other Information
The 2016/2017 school year marks the beginning of my 11th year teaching at Walnut Springs. I currently live on the outskirts of Wimberley and have two sons that attend 4th and 7th grade in Austin, a border collie mix (Rosie) that attends to chewing on the water hose in my yard, a ball python (Trooper) that attends to sleeping and eating a mouse once per week or so, and a corn snake (Drake) that attends to growing and trying to escape. Outside of school, I enjoy backpacking, fly fishing, hiking, and photography, all of which are best enjoyed with my sons and our dog.
